Although the OOLS annual AGM meeting is usually held during the weekend of the BRM Peterborough exhibition this year the event has again been cancelled.

The holding of an annual AGM is a requirement of the club constitution so the committee have agreed that once again we will take advantage of modern day technology and utilise online virtual meeting software. Again this is an opportunity for many more members to take part and the committee hope members will take advantage of this.

Last year we used Microsoft Teams but the ability to record has been removed from the free version so the software no longer meets our needs and we are currently testing other systems. An update will be posted once a decision has been made.

I would like to ask if I and a couple other members in the US could make a layout to tour the US as in person model railroad conventions start back up this July. The layout would be and do the same things as the layout in Europe. It would also serve as a basic repair station for new or newer members.

As this kind of meeting technology is new to the club trials have been undertaken to identify the best solution for us use. The two main contenders were Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Both have 'free' versions and the one that can best meet our requirements was identified as Microsoft Teams.

Over the last year the club has become more successful with many new initiatives, such as the new website and the club shop. These have increased the workload of the committee members involved and managing these areas has increased the number of more urgent management decisions needing to be made.

This increased workload has suffered from a slow response from committee members on various issues and this is hampering the decision making process.

With that in mind the committee have been discussing ideas to try and alleviate the problem and the preferred option is to create two types of committee member duties.
