Hi I live in the midlands Tamworth and following retirement have just started to renew my interest in model railways which reduced in my 20s due to following model aircraft which is my main hobby/sport at present. I saw the live steam at Shilton this year and have just bought an A4 Mallard Set R1041. Currently I am designing a layout which will be DCC but with options for Live Steam on some or all of the track. I will make a special part for fuelling and steaming the live steam due to the mess starting up.

I have now added a Flying Scotsman and another Mallard the first Mallard I will mod to a Golden Fleece with black wheels. Second Mallard just bought new through 00 Live Steam Club new to stay as Mallard.

As I now only use a small drop of oil each run starting up is a clean process so no need for a dirty part of the layout. Layout in final stages of design so buy wood in next week I think, I already have bought the track and most of the points.
