PAT Testing - Special Offer

Hello all,

I plan to bring the club's PAT testing equipment with me to this year's summer meet in August (10th & 11th). Therefore if you have any personal equipment that you require PAT testing, bring it along and I will test it free of charge. A donation to club funds would be a nice gesture if you feel inclined.

Cutaway Display Loco

Nick (the shop) has recently provided me a very tired looking Mallard. Instead of repairing it, however, I have butchered it such that it will never, every run again under its own steam. The purpose is to create a cutaway display for use on the roadshow.

So far I have cut out part of the rotary valve cover, opened up the side of one cylinder, removed part of the outer layer of the superheater, cut into the regulator housing, the oil chamber and the pressure relief valve. I haven't touched the tender yet and am hoping to use one from Chris that he's already hacked open. The question is: what else would you like to see ?

The loco currently looks like this, but how far do I go ?

Currently using 2 x 9V batteries - one for each motor/roller. I will build them in and add an on/off switch to the wiring at some point.
