Please tell Chris next time you see him, that the Silver Link loco he maintenance for me, is a very smooth runner now after a few good runs on the test bank, and that I’m super grateful for the job he did at the British motor museum.

And each time I run it I think of him on the great job he did on it and I learned a lot watching him, give him a big thanks.

Been a club member now for several months and have learnt how to keep these fascinating locos running and serviced. Following learning the hard way regarding track issues my A3 and A4 are currently running fairly well.

The instructional videos have inspired confidence in tackling tasks like timing etc; being new to live steam I am sure I would have really struggled without the club's wide range of resources.

Thanks again

It's been awhile since I last ran my Mallard, so I refreshed my memory by going though the original CD that came with my set, and the 00 Live Steam DVD which the club produced a few years ago. I've also been on your web and watched all the tutorials. Without exception they are excellent -- well produced, and the narrator (sorry, I don't know his name) has done a great job. Overall I am very happy with the club -- very professional yet still very friendly! Regards from Up-State New York! Captain Irwin D Nathanson, USNR-RET Diamond Point, New York

Thank you for existing. This site is wonderful, given the paucity of proper manuals and documentation for the OOLS range! I would be hard pressed to properly maintain my loco were it not for explanations and information provided here, and helpful discussions around common problems. Thank you for being here.

Would Like to thank the OO Love Steam Club, for the excellent 'how to sheets' and the knowledge base video's, as I now have my Golden Fleece up and running again, after having to replace the thermal cut-out.

Excellent service by Nick and the shop for the very quick posting and delivery.

OO Live Steam Club - Servicing - Just have to recommend the clubs new servicing assistance. Sent my Silver Link to Eric and received simply the best help. The loco was returned today and the difference in running and response was truly amazing. I will be sending my Flying Scotsman & Mallard for overhaul - well worth the money and totally recommended!

Hi Chris Oakes and co.

Many thanks for the help and assistance to get my sick A3 Flying Scotsman a proper run and also to everyone who put on a fantastic show at Ally Pally. As an engineer I learnt a lot that day from Maurice and Tim too which I am truly thankful for taking the time to strip back in the time they had to get my A3 running.

I cannot recommend more, any owner of a Live steam engine to attend one of these events. The tips and knowledge gained plus the ability to pick up parts is invaluable. Keep up the great work - Best regards, Trevor

I would like to Thank the OO Live Steam Club for allowing my A3 Papyrus to run on your Exhibition track at the Alexandra Palace last Sunday. It was wonderful to see her running and Ito be able to video her in action as well.

Hi,

I would like to say a big thank you to the OO live steam club, Martyn ( my old school mate ) and myself were made very welcome at the Doncaster show on Sunday 14th may, by Adrian, Chris, Eric, George, Maurice and all the other members there.

We took up the offer of " bring your own loco and run it on our layout " nothing was too much trouble, and we received lots of info and tips.

We had a great time, thank you again gentleman.

Good evening Chris

You ran both my locos Sunday (London Model Engineering Show). They had a good workout. The A4 ran well. It has recently come back from a Hornby service and repair. They replaced tender wheels and incorrect seals under superheater. Strange that as I have never touched these.

We set Papyrus going. My newer loco and has run well so far. However she began to wobble and you found missing attachment screws. From a repair kit these were replaced and I now have spares. Not steaming well so you colleague tightened the steam supply unions. Finally, in my absence, tested and all was well I understand. Not yet run here in Dorset but will be soon.

Please thank your colleagues for their help. Real practical support.

Good morning,

Can I take this opportunity to thank you for organising this event, to thank George James and his parents for hosting the event and for the very warm and friendly welcome.

The opportunity to meet fellow enthusiasts in an informal setting (rather than at a busy show) and for the technical knowledge and skill to be available and to be able to steam on a layout an compare performance was invaluable,

Kind regards
