Gland nut for cylinder end cap
Would anybody have a spare gland nut. The one that screws into the end of the cylinder cap on the piston rod. Threads appear damaged and will not screw into the end cap.
Does any body know the thread size?

Hi john, I'm sorry i don't have one. You did post about a steam leak the other day, can't find the post, let's try and help with that:
I would first check the regulator valve, often when one gets this fault you'll find that there is scoring on the underside of the valve and on the the brass base it sits on, if this is the case get some well worn very fine wet and dry, don't wet it, place the wet and dry on a flat surface, ideally a piece of marble or the kitchen worktop and rub the rotary valve in a circular motion on the wet and dry until the scores have been removed. If the scores are deep you will have to have it refaced on a lathe, taking as little brass as possible. With the base you will need to remove and take out the pin before the wet and dry, very important to do this as evenly as possible.
Hope this helps. Maurice
