For Sale and Wanted

Hello everybody. I'm new to the forum but not new to OO live steam. Love the club website btw, lots of information ! Just a quick background so you don't think I'm using you all. Up until the last 9 years I only modelled in OO gauge, live steam included, I still regret selling it. Since then I have been building/modelling in O gauge and large scale live steam. I am now wanting to combine my 2 loves and build an O gauge live steamer. My O gauge club has said I am not allowed to run a traditional spirit/gas fired steam loco on the layout but would maybe allow an electrically heated steam loco. To this end, I am currently building a rebult Royal Scot in O gauge with the plan to build it using the cylinders, timing/reverser gear, stepper motor, superheater and boiler etc from a OO gauge live steam Mallard/A4. This will need some heavy modification of the steam chest/cylinders so I will be keeping my trusty Boxford lathe busy and if that wasn't enough I plan to convert it to run on DCC. Anyway, I am looking for a non running Mallard A4 (I only chose the Mallard/A4 as the cylinders may be closer to the size needed for the Royal Scot). The A4 doesn't need to be complete, ie I wont need the body of the loco or tender, wheelset or outside motion or front/rear bogie, just as long as the rest is comlete. They don't have to have been working when the loco has stopped being used either, as the whole lot will be stripped to component parts and reworked/repaired to fit the Scot, just as long as the essential parts are complete. Any help would be appreciated, ebay is slim pickings just now......I'm really sorry if the prospect of de-commissioning a live steam loco upsets you, but it will be used in a very interesting project.
