Flying Scotsman convertion
I recently bought two Scotsman wracks that I want to restore.
But two the same locos with the same name, is a bit boring.
ESo I want to convert one into another A3.
So I stumbled on two brass A3 name plates on eBay "Night Hawk" and "Niel Gow".
But there isn't much to find on these two locomotives.
I possible I want to make one of them into a black wartime color scheme, even better with wind plates infront of the boiler.
But I don't just want to change it due that I like it, it must also be historicly correct.
Has anybody got photo where one of these named engine look like my idea?
Or a very good recomandation on a book for A3 types?
Regards,
Danny

Hi Danny, yes they both had the trough deflectors, Neil Gow fitted in 1961 and Night Hawk in 1962. They both had the double chimney at that stage as well, also if you want to be really accurate neither had a corridor tender at any time, and none of the A3's did when in this configuration. The colour you want is Brunswick Green, don't know RAL number. Maurice
