At our summer meet in Gomersal. I arraigned for supremo web influencer and all round model railway guru, Jenny Kirk and her other half Zoe to come and operate live steam and
see how cool it is to properly drive a model steam loco.
As is usual for the Jenny/Zoe team they recorded a video exclusive on the OOLS club and how to operate live steam with the success we are now accustomed to seeing and Chris did a splendid job of explaining everything technical.
Jenny then had a go and found it a lot easier than expected and gave the viewers all the encouragement they need to get one and have a go.

Yes there was a lot of noise with trains running constantly so it was a little hard to judge when someone was talking or not. The sound recording doesn’t pick it up but it was a right din!!! Track without a cork bed isn’t the best for keeping the running noise down. The footage was recorded in a different order to the finished video. also I think the editing may have removed some of the natural gaps in dialogue. Chris hasn’t complained so I guess it’s a ‘pass!!!’
