The set has arrived!
So yesterday my live steam Mallard arrived, everything looks quite nice and as if it had not been used at all previously.
Interestingly, the transformer has a Continental Europe styled 2-prong plug. So I’m assuming the transformer is built for (probably German 220v) current. As that places a much higher load on the transformer than US 110v, do folks here think I could use a conversion plug to simply attach the transformer straight into main power, or should I employ a “pre-transformer” to bring the current up to the European 220v.
Also, the red LMS Duplo coaches have arrived, and are quite lovely. I’m thinking a slight modification to the connection for one coach and I could run a nice hybrid LMS-LNER consist while waiting for my proper LNER and Pullman stock to arrive.
Thoughts from the assembled experts?

I think I read somewhere that if you open up the transformer there is a switch to select between 220v and 110v. Ed Batchelor at Hornby would know and I bet his email address is ed.batchelor@hornby.com Brian I think sending that email is worth a punt.
Keep us posted . Great story to follow. Ps did you mean dublo not duplo.? Duplo in uk is like big Lego but you might not know what that is.
