Controller in promotion video
The Controller used in the Hornby promotion video is a pre-series model with a slightly different look. In addition to that there seem to be deviations in the function as well:
1) Video scene starting at minute 2:05 : The voltmeter shows the heater voltage but during a control pulse the pointer of the meter stays and does not move.
2) At minute 2:15 (speaker: .....and reverse to a stop....) : The speed regulator handle is moved to the left, the left green LED is lit but only as long as the handle is hold.
The observations lead me to the following suspicion:
The pre-series Controller did not generate control pulses of fixed length, these pulses were defined manually (similar to "Live Drive" mode).
