What is this tank engine at KX

I've been collecting photos of Kings Cross station for a build project and came across this. I dont recognise the loco. Does anyone know it and have an idea of the date?

'Tis indeed a J52 (If you speak in modern (post-1923) parlance!).

Although not actually an owner of any live-steam locos the concept has intrigued me for many a year.

Now, for Kings Cross you may want to decide on your chosen era as that will dictate what stock you find yourself running. Pre-1923 is out (more's the pity), but may I suggest perhaps setting the model in the immediate post-war period, extending up to around 1950. This allows for a nice variety of virtually pure-steam workings and a nice amount of colour, with LNER Green (both pre and post war), a variety of BR and LNER Black liveries and a few experimental liveies, and of course BR Green.

Finally, may I add that this appears to be a very interesting project! I look forward to seeing more and also to some more live steam locos besides the Gresley Pacifics.
