What are best points for Live Steam

As I embark on my (necessarily simplified) Kings Cross project I will need several points, crossovers and double slips.

What brand of track is best for reliable operation of Hornby Live Steam over points?

At our Roadshow I often see locos derail as the pull out slowly over the curved section of Peco points. They are OK as they go straight through.

Is it the leading bogie that's the problem, the relatively tight curve, the design of the point?

Is there anyone else out there about to embark on a project who would be happy to share resources and buy some different brands for a definitive test?

Well,,, on the Roadshow we are using Finscale Peco Trackwork and it could be that the frog work and rail height are at a slight odds with our live steam operations, we don’t have any tight curves as they are all long points.

Peco is generally regarded as the best you can buy so I would say go for code 100 instead of code 75.

it is also worth measuring the back to back dims on the front bogies as this can vary which will cause derailing as well.
