Why was live steam not successful?
I'm not so versed in the why, when I see it still being videoed on youtube as early as 2019 and just as loved to there owners. It make me wonder why. Also a side question could it return in a comeback?

The £ dropping against the $ and the supply problems came after the sales drop, discounting and demotion on the website so who knows whether Hornby would have produced more had those problems not arisen in 2008.
We did meet with Hornby director in 2014 who said "We let a halo product go" and swore us to the secrecy that they did intend to bring it back but a year later he and almost the entire board were fired so those plans finished. New brooms there now who have more important fish to fry (oooh - mixed metaphor - sorry!)
Bottom line though is that Hornby Live Steam is a successful product that brings huge enjoyment and deserves re-working and re-releasing.
One day I hope knight in shining armour will get the message at one of our Roadshows.
