London Model Engineering Exhibition January 2019
Maurice usually writes the show reviews but on this occasion was not available to attend, so naturally, as befitting his new position of club chairman . . .he delegated!
This show is a three day event so set up this time was 4pm on the Thursday and for once Mike, Nick Charles and myself all had a relatively traffic free run in. What a nice change!
However we were caught on the hop buy a change to the available setup times . . . this year starting earlier and finishing a 6pm instead of the expected 8pm, so we had a little less time that usual to get ready. (Teach me to read the show 'bumff' properly next time)
This year we were also promoted to new position right in the centre of the hall, with no other stands actually adjoining us. After a bit of thought we decided to set up with the backdrop at one end of the layout, the helpdesk tables at the other with viewing available on both the long sides of the layout. As we were kicked out at closing time the stand was nearly complete, just needing a few final tweaks on the Friday morning.

This is an unusual setup arrangement for us but it proved to very successful over the three days of the show.

Friday was a nightmare drive in from the hotel in the London traffic but we made it in time to add the final touches, include the information display just before the exhibition opened.
Jimmy made it for this event and this was just after the doors opened to the public

More later . . . .

Ok how about the King is dead, long live the King!
