Statfold Barn Road,Rail and Ale - 14-15th September 2024

A very different show than what we are use to, but still very much enjoyed by all, and some great conversations with the public, who showed a great interest in OOLS, and many people who stated that they had one in their loft and seeing it working has got them to get it out and try running it again.

Since it was non modelling orientated event it meant were one a very few exhibitors with any form of models, and meant we could sample the delights of their their real ale. Due to being on the Statfold Barn railway it meant we could do other things such as ride their exquisite 2ft line, and due to the fact we had a larger team it meant people could go and explore these things very easily

Because Jon, Andrew and Dave P were all there it meant it was coronation galore. There was so many I couldn't keep count of how many were there; There must have been over 6. Here is an image of Andrews and Jons running together. Dave Ps also got a run, and a lot of comments from children who loved it being in unpainted brass.

Another one of the highlights of the weekend was being able to sample an upcoming shop product. This was in the form of the new OOLS Steam Scent & Smoke Oil. This gives an enhanced steam/smoke look from the engine and a nice smell like it burning actual coal. I can confirm the latter comes out VERY well in a room from testing at home. A great product that I know i'll be getting again. As be seen bellow the results of use are very effective in my Empire of India and new Mallard.

Also the show allowed me to show my latest idea - the headboard chimneys. More information can be shown below, but here its on Dave Ws Lord Farringdon.

Also due to the large team it gave a nice opportnity to take a photo of us infront of the roadshow.

Finally thanks to Val and Statfold Barn who worked together very well on this one, and helped us have a great show, and allowed for an amazing weekend for all of us.. Quite a wait now until the next roadshow so the next roadshow report will be in Feb 2025 for Doncaster.
