Silverlink

Hello everyone. I am new to this live steam hobby though been playing with my trains for years and years.

I have a garden railway and want to run two trains around it using live steam. I acquired 'Mallard' which was unused and worked very well. I also picked a used Silverlink. I cannot get this one to run.

When I applied power the red light came on put I couldn't persuade her to move despite several attempts once unto pressure. No green light showed either.

Oil leaked from both pistons up front whereas with Mallard, this did not happen.

Also, Silverlinks wheels can be moved by hand, Mallards can't be.

I am guessing I have a seal issue on the pistons. If so, how do I fix this or who can repair for me?

Any advice or help very much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Howard

Thanks for that. Well, after testing everything to within an inch of its life, we discoverd that the Hornby rolling road was causing the problem. Amazon have sent a new one. Every day is a school day!
