BROCKLEY LANE - cellar based 'roundy'...

Well after over a year in our 'new' house ( its' actually over 200yrs old ) I've made the first tentative steps of my next LS layout.

The old layout, 'Slancote Summit' was partially recycled (track/electrics etc) whilst the rest travelled to the tip....

The new layout will be built in a Vaulted cellar and will share space with a lot of stored items. So it will be built at quite a high level, to allow storage underneath.

This will benefit our Secretary Chris, when he visits from Glossop, as 'Slancote' was a 'duck under' and quite low!

This gives an idea of space constraints!

I plan a twin track continuous circuit, each have a passing loop. ( the plan for a vertical traverser, for stock storage, is currently on hold )

Layout size is around 12' x 7'

I plan to have 1 dedicated LS loop and 1 x loop either for LS or DC. Since building 'Slancote', I've bought a Lazer level, so Brockley Lane will ( should !) be gradient free .

Finally, both circuits running Live Steam....

a few little trackwork niggles, my curved points are Streamline Code 75, which the Code 75 Bullhead track fishplates won't join to.... Hopefully Peco might release the Curved code 75 Bullhead points this year - fingers crossed.

'scuse the mess in this clip, the cellar is the store for all sorts....

Controllers are under the layout, with LiveDrives for both, making control easy.... + a little Gaugemaster for DC control, using the same 2-pin plug/skt combination, means the DC controller can be plugged into either circuit....

next up is ballasting and thinking what scenery I can incorporate.
