Headboards - Chimney Approach

Hi all,

Recently I had an idea to create a headboard for an A4.

I wanted to put an a headboard an A4 without using any black tack or glue on it, and to allow the headboard to be easily removable and interchangeable.

I had the idea to use a spare chimney I had as the area to attach the headboard to with a small piece of wire and super glue.

This means the headboard could be swapped between locos and would not be permeant and risk any cosmetic damage to your loco.

At the last roadshow this idea seemed to be liked by most people, and meant that others could use my chimney with the headboard on, and so showed the success of this idea.

Bellow is some images of the one i made being shown on Dave Ws Lord Farringdon and my Mallard at Statfold Barn.

It is an easy project to do, and allows for some nice variation. It also helps that we have a good supply of OOLS chimneys given the club produces them, allowing you to create a selection of headboards for use on your locos, and retain your original chimney.

Hope some people might fight this idea useful for their own locos.

Kind regards,

Jack
