Hello folks,

Here are a couple of photos at the start of a project to convert an A3 into a Royal Scot class loco. I bought a Jamieson/Eames brass kit and have set about converting it to suit the live steam mechanism. I've also been hacking a rebuilt Scot into an original style.

The photos show the body as it stands now, still quite some work to tidy up the soldering, but I can get a good feel for how much work will have to go on re-arranging the live steam mechanism to suit the rather shorter Scot chassis. Hopefully not as involved as some of Ken's masterpieces.

This is also my first attempt at soldering a brass kit, so not too much sniggering please. No doubt progress will be slow, so don't expect to see it running any time soon, but I hope to get there eventually.
