A3 LED upgrade + Arcing prevention
I have converted an A3 lamp-PCB to LED technology. As well arcing prevention is implemented. For basics and circuit diagram please refer to the post “A4 LED board”, V2 (2 LED version).
Upgrade of Lamp-PCB: The 2 bulbs are replaced by 2 bridge rectifiers mounted as a backpack. Each rectifier serves 1 LED.
One conductor on the PCB is interrupted and bridged by resistor R1 (for dimensioning see A4 post).
Arcing prevention: The el. connection of the left rail via the relay-PCB to the loco chassis is isolated now and bridged
by resistor R2 (390 ohms, 0.6 watt).
