Bittern Down Under
I recently watched a video about Bittern DT in Garter Blue. It looked magnificent. Now there are a lot of OOLS items for sale on e-bay, so I decided it would be rather nice (an understatement!) to recreate this in Live Steam. By good fortune there was a garter blue tender being sold, Mallard bodies are a dime a dozen being garter blue I only have to rename/renumber it. I could have bought a Mallard and converted it, but the black Golden Fleece was for sale here in Sydney so I got it. As for the double tender, all I could do was to buy a Hornby FSDT DC model and use the water tender, currently it is in BR blue and grey, not for long though. Fox transfers have the necessary decals, the water tender has the crest of the LNER displayed. Finally replace the loco wheels with red ones as on the real loco.
Sounds a good project to make something different.... i like that
