2021 OOLS Club Summer Meet
Hi Everybody,
We plan to hold our Summer Meet this year. In the past the location has been Chatteris, this year that will not be possible, so we have a new location, the London Museum of Water and Steam.
Charles Leekam, who has made the arrangements, has been in touch with Emma Canterbury of The London Museum of Water and Steam and we have their Babcock room for 31st July and 1st August. The museum will be open to the public as well that weekend, but it is unlikely to be very busy.
This is all subject to wherever we are with Covid!! Parking is available at the museum.
The museum opens to the public at 10am on Saturday and Sunday and closes at 4pm.
The London Museum of Water and Steam.

Can you please let me know if you plan to attend so we have some idea of numbers?
Yours,
Maurice

Well,,,, we had a terrific restart to our roadshow season down at the London Water and Steam Museum For the Summer meet up!
The layout performed as good as ever, the staff were fantastic, the food available was lovely and we had a handful of members show up for a good play!!
The best bit for us all was meeting up again after an 18 months lay off due to the Covpan! Maurice was able to play as well as we operating were not far from his residence.
A highlight for us all was getting to have a brief go at the controls of a 1:1 scale Hunslet 0-4-0 Wren Loco ( or a recent 2009 Replica of one!) around the perimeter of the museum grounds. Great fun at feeling what the real thing is actually like to control!!!
The weather was reasonably kind to us with long sunny spells and a couple of quick showers.
The museum is a mine of info on all things water and steam being a Victorian steam powered pumping station for London originally.
Well worth a visit, especially on steam up days!!!
Heres to our next club meet provisionally at Gaydon Motor Museum at the end of October.
