Advice when purchasing a used loco
Hi, I'm Andrew Turner and I'm new to this hobby. I've just purchased a second hand Flying Scotsman. The seller tells me it's only been lightly used but has been in storage for some time. It certain looks to be in good condition but, before I attempt to fire up the boiler, I'd like some advice regarding how to prepare the loco for running, especially given the fact it hasn't been used for a while.
