Hello and Thanks
I've recently joined the OOLS Club, having acquired a Mallard set. I would very much like to thank the club for the tutorial videos which have stopped me walking into several elephant traps, and given me a greater understanding of these models.
I was fascinated by these locos when they were introduced in 2003, and toyed with the idea of buying one at the time. As often happens other priorities got in the way, and I didn't get round to it, but having recently retired from the railway I now have the time to spend on the loco.

You're spot on that it was a combination of time/money/other commitments that stopped me getting involved earlier, and it's nice to know I'm not alone in that.
The effort put into the tutorials and other support available from the club is certainly worthwhile, as there is much more to these locos than first appears. Without the clubs knowledge and advice I'd probably have read the manual, put the loco on the track, and derailed it at the first curve!
