Hi, Just bought a set

Hi everyone, I've just ordered a set, described as new and unused, hopefully it'll be delivered tomorrow. I've ordered some distilled water, and this clubs DVD, so as soon as that's here I hope to have a little play around with it. Rather than risking running off the rails, I found a rolling road on eBay and bought that, until I can control the engine smoothly. Looking forward to learning about these engines.

Thanks both, i hope to learn a lot from members knowledge, rather than finding out the hard way.

I've been looking at the extra control unit that's on this shop, but I think I'll leave that for another month, my bank balance has taken a big enough hit at the moment.

I can't make the next 2 shows you're attending, but I might be able to the Doncaster or Manchester shows, though I'd probably have my 7 and 4 year olds with me, both steam train obsessed, and the eldest is particularly interested in the A4's.

The set arrived today, and I have to say the seller didn't lie about the condition (not to my untrained eyes anyway), it came in the original brown shipping box, with the polystyrene packing, inner box still in the bag, and everything within still wrapped up. I'll attach some photos (hopefully) at the end of this post.

When you say to load it with a lot of coaches, how many do you mean, I only actually have 3 at the moment, though if it'd help I've plenty of lead I could weigh them down with. It's encouraging though, as I've really bought this for a long term plan. In a few years I plan on having an outdoor track, which will have a couple of hills that it will have to climb, so hopefully they've got plenty of power to cope with them.

I'm sure I've paid over the odds for it, and the seller did also have 2 other sets, little used, cheaper and only light wear to the box. But I decided to pay the extra for the as new set.
