I have experience of model steam from Wilesco and Stuart Turner models. I also collect OO model railways and enjoy maintaining and repairing the locomotives. Having just discovered that Hornby made OO live steam models this seemed like the perfect thing for me to look into. To this end I have just purchased two chassis and tenders (spares or repair). I am looking to repair them first and have managed to source most of the parts I think need apart from the water filler plugs.
I also have no controller so in the long run I am hoping to re-design the electronics down more Radio Control routes powering the model from a LiPo battery in a following coach. I will most probably be asking questions about all the electronics involved.
