I purchased my Mallard set many years ago when Hornby still sold them! I still haven't run it very much due to children commitments and space. Got it out of it's box last year, for the first time in many years, to find it didn't work. I had it serviced by the excellent Hornby team and now running well.
I have purchased the Live drive system from the club shop and it is nearly complete but I have a problem: the connecting jack lead supplied from the live drive box to hand held box has two black wires and one red. The supplied build instructions (and the otherwise excellent downloadable construction guide) assume red, black and white wires. How do I connect this to the push button switches in the hand held box? Desperate to test this out but cautious about wrong wiring causing damage (I'm not an electronics guru, I just like to have-a-go!)

Thanks Nick, will give it a go. Won't be able to test anything until August as I am out of the country from next week!
