Weymouth Model Railway Exhibition 20th and 21st October 2018

I have a big apology to make, it is now over two months since we attended this event and it is only now that you are getting this report and not much of one at that! I would like to have a good excuse, but I don’t, it came to me in flash when I was thinking about Warley, that is to follow, and it hit me right between the eyes! Weymouth!

This was our first time here, very nice to be beside the seaside, this was a two-day show, but I decided that I would only be able to make set up on the Friday and be at the show all day Saturday. The reason? Well I was under some pressure from management to show my face at home on a more regular basis. I had been away with some of my other hobbies for some 5 nights out of 7 and planned to spend another 4 nights away as well, this was not going down well, so I needed to re-establish domestic bliss. I therefore left the hotel after breakfast on Sunday drove over 100 miles out of my way to take management out to lunch before proceeding to two nights away. I must tell you she was bowled over. I’m still bathing in the glow of that sacrifice, well worth it. However I have been pushing the envelope of late, I now need a new recovery plan and lunch won’t be enough. Any suggestions?

As I mentioned we arrived on Friday, but were not able to set up until Saturday morning, but from then on we had a steady stream of people all day with some locos to fix.

As I’m currently spending a few months in Devon, without my i mac, just an old pc with me, I’ve not been able to download any photos, but Chris Oakes has been taking some and will post them when I manage to upload this load of drivel onto the site.

By the way, I did not get to see the sea!

No parts as far as I know and even if there were I wouldn't know enough about them to know what to order anyway. What I can tell you is that having been doing this since 2011 in my experience controller failures are very rare and there are plenty of them out there, so I don't believe it will become a problem.
