timing issue?
so when i run my a4 mallard. i notice that when i open the regulator to go forwards. it needs a few flicks then it starts going at a moderate speed. but when i open the regulator to go backwards, it only needs one or two flicks and then it start going smoothly at a very low speed. it also seems to run smoother in reverse. is this a timing issue?

Basically yes, The timing is tweakable for forward and reverse running separately. It sounds also like your main gear may be out by a tooth or so. See tutorials on timing for further help.
