Problems with brand new Silver Link
Hi all,
I recently acquired a brand new Silver Link, but can't get it to run.
I set it up on my rolling road, where it gets steam up ok, with the superheater working. When I move the regulator to the forward or reverse position, the wheels will rotate about a quarter turn, then stop. When trying to coax the wheels with a cocktail stick they will turn, but when the stick is removed the rotate back to their original position.
I think I have some problem either with the pistons, or steam supply to them. Some steam is getting there, else the wheels wouldn't turn, but not sure if I've got a blocked port or some other issue. I'm happy to attempt my own stripdown and repair, but would appreciate some instructions on how to proceed. Does the club CD give any tips on advanced maintenance?
Any help would be much appreciated - I may be able to get to Ally Pally next weekend with the offending article!
