black rubber ring on pressure relief valve of A3
For an A3, with engine housing removed, on the top of the pressure relief valve there is seated a black rubbery ring. This ring could be attached/seated with either side up - either with the more flat side up or with small protruding/raised thin section of ring uppermost. Which orientation is considered to be the correct way round?
During normal pressure relieving bursts some steam ejects upward as expected but simultaneously as much steam also ejects downward out through the undercarriage area coating much of the electronic board area in condensate. Upon opening, we found the ring attached with the flatter side up. My thoughts were that if the ring was flipped over the resulting protruding/raised now uppermost thin ring would perhaps better mold to the curved inner surface of the engine cover and encourage more steam to eject upwards. Also, upon removal of the engine cover we could not detect any other steam leak points.

Hello Martin,
1) here is a photo showing our A3 FS-DT body internal view to help compare to yours.
2) also a composite photo of body front. Our A3 FS-DT does not have what appears to be a black hose on the very front of red No. plate. Does your engine have this? Most other pics I have located appear to show this pipe attached.
We have only had ours a week or two now, having purchased it as being pristine new/unused but am now finding what appear to be a few anomalies.
cheers, RC.
