Advice needed about rebuilding a Flying Scotsman.
Can anyone tell me what procedure should be followed to rebuild a Flying Scotsman I've just bought that's in bits and pieces (well- most of them) from eBay? Such as what's best to do first, then second, and so on, and what things are most important to bear in mind . Plus, if I repaint it (I'll be spray painting), what paint should I use? Presumably it needs to be heat-resistant.

This has occurred to me. But 'local' means a long way from here- from Beijing in the north to Guangdong Province in the south (where I imagine the locos were made) is about 2000 miles. I have written to Hornby Hobbies suggesting they may be interested in having someone here (i.e. me) to help reactivate production. With a Papyrus going for 2000 quid plus on eBay, maybe they'll think it a good idea.
