Mallard / Controller issue?

Hello,

Having seen Live Steam at the NEC in November, I finally took the plunge and bought a Mallard set.

Initially I was able to get the loco to steam and run (although very fast), so decided to make a rolling road so that I could practise my skills with controlling the loco.

I built myself a rolling road and was able to steam the loco - tonight I tried to steam the loco again, however after a few mins the controller went off and the red light in the loco also went off.

I can hear the water in the tender getting hot and some steam coming out of it, however no steam is coming from the loco.

I am not sure if I have done something wrong, but have checked to make sure there is water in the tender (which there is).

There is also a whining noise coming from somewhere when the controller is switched on - I have tried to capture a video below showing what I mean (this was after a few seconds when I tried to steam it again following the initial issue).

Thanks for any help.

Matt

Hi Joe

Took another look following on from your comment and there was no seal on the brass screw, there was some spares with the set, getting the old one out (it was broken) and replacing it has fixed the issue and I was able to get her to steam.

Thanks for your help.
