Dirty Track.

I have just been doing a run with my Mallard in charge of a Santa Special! It did about 4 circuits of the track and then decided it didn't want to play any more and slowed to a stop, sparks issuing from the tender wheels!

The problem, I am sure, being a dirty track as there didn't appear anything else untoward. I usually use a track rubber and a track cleaning wagon using isopropanol on the wadding strip in contact with the rails. This did, in fact, clear the problem but for how long?

Can anybody suggest a better method that they have found and use, and to be 99% foolproof please.

Merry Christmas to all who read this.

@martinwaller4 Thanks for your very useful information. I have taken it 'on board', and will look out for some blue contact lubricant as you suggest. Many thanks again for your contribution.
