TIMING ASSEMBLY.
Hello fellow members, has anyone ever had trouble with the timing gears melting when running the locomotive steve.

No damage to the gears. The shop has 'Gear shaft A' and the A3 timing assembly in stock but the second spur gear shaft is no longer available, niether is the timing assembly for A4s.
I did have one of these gears broken on another loco which rendered the loco useless but managed to acquire a pair metal of gears with the same ratio that had to be machined to make them fit.
