Difficulty Removing the A3 Piston Cylinder Nut
Recently I decided to replace my A3 seals for the new high spec VITON seals from the club. I removed valve gear and stripped to just the piston rod sticking out of the cylinder but then could not undue the hexagonal screw with the special tool because the shoulder on the tool was too wide. there in only about a 1/32nd clearance between the tips of the hexagonal screw and the adjacent shoulder in the piston casting.
I have reported to Maurice but in the meantime ordered another special tool on which I will file down the shoulder until it fits but would not wish to weaken tool for us on my A4s.
Hope this helps

A4?,,,we haven’t had one of them go as yet.
The A3 jig is some way off from production I’m afraid.
Something we may work on in 2019 though Via a 3D printer.
