Flying Scotsman - question before I consider sending this off for repair by Hornby - can anyone answer please?
The engine heats the water but with insufficient pressure to activate the steam exhaust valve so it never gets to the point of having pressure to start, When picked up it seems to be leaking water. The engine will boil dry and achieve nothing at all. All tender wheels are running freely.
Thank you

Thank you very much for this explanation which I can refer back to. I bought your DVD and it was very useful to free off one set of tender wheels on the locomotive - so I was surprised it would not run. I spoke to John Humphries and he guided me to look at the locomotive and then said that I ought to send it to him. It was very kind of you to reply, much appreciated, has helped me understand more and perhaps to be bold enough to progress further on another occasion. I run 5 locos and so the more I know, the better. This was my first attempt to deal with the loco myself and so I was pleased to have dealt with the tender. THANK YOU - it is good to know you are here for us as a club.
