Mallard running backwards roughly
My Mallard runs very nicely forwards but is more sluggish and sort of chuggy going backwards - why would this be ? I've checked the driving wheels and rods are all tight. Would it be the valve timing is a bit off ? I don't dare mess with that - Does Hornby still do a repair and tune-up service ? I heard their Margate premises closed a year or so ago. Cheers, Pete

Last I heard they were charging about £25.00 + parts Martin and I did hear a rumour that they thought the charge was too little. Turn around seems to vary wildly from several days to several weeks. John Humphreys does the servicing so you could ask to speak to him.
