Secondary relief valve pressure
Anyone know what pressure the tender safety pressure relief triggers at? I have had a blockage in the hose connector and while diagnosing the boiler reached 3.5 bar before I noticed and switched off. I thought it might trigger by then, but not a hint. I don’t know if it too is blocked. There’s some limescale in the fittings that have caused trouble.
Also, does anyone know what back pressure to expect if the boiler is on superheat but disconnected at the fitting below the loco main pressure relief? This was blocked but is now flowing with the boiler only reaching 0.1-0.2 bar at heavy steam flow using full superheat “+” setting. It’s gushing steam but that’s a fair pressure drop… not sure if it’s normal.

Simon,
just a thought regarding the weak motor/regulator:
Besides a mechanical problem or weak magnets the reason could be electrical (bad solder point, bad relay contact...). I´d recommend to check the voltage at the motor input.
