Previously I posted a test bed that held the loco front end on a block of wood. Fine, but it had the potential to make the loco unstable when working on it. So I have revised the front block and added brass rods to hold the loco in place. The locos front frame simply rests on the wood and locates through the front mounting holes. This keeps it stable and also negates the requirement of a coupling at the tender end in case of runaways. However it does require the front bogie to be detached, no big issue there of course.
