On the old forum there were some posts on how to convert the locos to DCC does anybody have that documentation?

If you leave the original Hornby circuit board inside the loco, this has a full-wave rectifier circuit on it providing a constant polarity 12V(ish), which is smoothed by the big electrolytic capacitor. You can tap off that to save the need for batteries. That's the way I powered my Bluetooth receiver in the loco when driving by 'phone'.
