Regulator push rod jamming
I fixed the magnet on the Golden Fleece, and aside from poor timing, it mostly works. However I occasionally find the rear end of the regulator push/pull rod rides up and jams. From memory this is what the sheet metal part above is supposed to stop, but the screw connection catches on this in its current position so bending it down seems like it would make it worse. Am I missing something?

Is there a bend in the connecting rod ? Is the pin in the gearwheel absolutely vertical ? Even a small alignment error could change the direction of the forces and so push it upwards.
By the way, I adjust the length by aligning the regulator steam hole with the hole underneath it (use back end of 0.6mm drill bit) when the gear pinion has the regulator rod in fully forwards, wide open position.
