Ongoing Controller cut out problem I have put something on forum before but I have not found a solution.
What happens is that about 5/20 seconds after turning regulator the power to the track cuts out. As an aside I can feel the boiler gets warm/hot and if I keep restarting it will get quite hot, have never gone on long enough to reach boiling.
I have tried the controller with both track and rolling road and also have used a track tester (i.e. a light from guagemaster that fits across rails) all with same cut out result. After kind advice from others I have checked connections and replaced the thermal cut out and the tender wheel contact strips. As it happens I also recently replaced the steam pipe assembly as the wire was damaged.
Given this it seems that the problem may be with the controller or the transformer. If it helps the transformer light comes on and stays on after cut out. The controller issues a loud(ish) buzz which is continuous and the red light on that unit goes out. The same result with all three options mentioned above.
If there is a problem can the controller or transformer be repaired, i.e. is that a practical option or should I look for replacements?
Any thoughts and advice would be welcome

Thanks Tony I will try working through what you suggest
