Just an idea: Live Drive improvement

When using Live Drive the control voltage for the servo motor depends on the selected heater power level. Dependent on the quality of the layout (i.e. voltage drop) control problems may occur especially in simmer mode. Enclosed an idea to improve this:

The Live Drive relay box is connected to a 7.5 volt external Power supply, a Schottky diode reduces the voltage to approx. 7 volt.

Relay 1 switches between heater power from Controller and external DC-control voltage (forward and reverse). Relay 2 does polarity reversal of the external DC-control voltage (reverse only).

All parts from the Live Drive kit can be (re)used except the high power resistor, the wiring will be different. A suitable Power supply costs about 15.- GBP, example:

Another possibility is to derive 17 volt DC from the Transformer via Y-cable and use a step down DC/DC converter to generate 7 volt.
