This fault has come up. again. Since it seemed to be "cured" the engine has been serviced by both Hornby and the club (in fact the Hornby one was stuck in a lock down pile and when it came back the note somply said the timing was adjusted without much description. I later sent it to the club and it was returned with all working fine. Last week a power problem seemed to develop in that it was impossible to get any real speed and if stopped would not pull away again. After a few days of slow running the cut outs reappeared. I have checked and cleaned track and tender wheels etc but it is still the case that after about 30 seconds the power cuts out. Strange thing is that if I get the boiler a little warm I can operate the steam valve and if I keep "flicking" or even holding the lever there is no cut out. Relase the lever and it cuts out. Any thoughts or suggestions please ?
