Modifying my layout
Hello to everyone and hope your all well.
Finally booked a weeks holiday in 8 months ! and thought i should modify my railway for live steam use.
The railway was too low so i'm now raising it to an un back braking 3 ft, the curve on the board below was too sharp and found out the hard way running highly detailed hornby teak coaches which broke all their door handles off when passing each other, so spliced a section in to reduce the radius of the curve.
Left over polystyrene roof insulation which should make a nice cushion if i get one of those rogue runaway loco's........yes i still get them!
Second section bolted together with additional track removed and added from the original layout, to created less acute curve so live steam locos can run at realistic speed without derailing.
Track repair....took forever!
Look Chris another use for your favorite tool !
