Introduce Yourself

Hi everyone,

I've been retired for a couple of years and never owned a proper model railway set, I have a box of hornby stuff in the loft of my old house which I will dig out sometime..

Anyway long story short I thought maybe its about time I had a go and when looking round I came across live steam and nearly did a deal with a guy on eBay on a mallard starter set and 3 other engines all in as new or new condition, I only waited a day and they were gone but during that time I read a lot of negative comments before I stumbled across this site. I had intended an electric only set before I found the live steam stuff and as I have nothing then I can build to suit myself.

So I am interested in obtaining the whole shooting match, loco (s), track, controllers etc.

would welcome the challenge of steam. I havea large workshop and I think i can probably have somewhere around 15 x 6 feet as long as I can hinge and fold the track up sometimes when I have a larger project on the go.

advice welcome, or leads on good parts to get me going etc etc..
