How are you all supplying power to the track?

Hi all, I'm in the early stage of building my first layout, I want it to be able to run normal DC locos, as well as the live steam mallard. So when wiring it up, I'll have connections for both a DC controller and the Hornby LS control system. My question is, are you all using the supplied power track and cable, and how are you all suppling track around the layout. I've read about soldering dropper wires to every section of track, and then connecting to a bus wire. On the DC controller the wires are really small, but considerably bigger on the LS controller, so what sort of wire are you all using for the bus? I've got around 40m of this https://www.screwfix.com/p/nexans-2192y-black-2-core-0-75mm-flexible-cable-50m-drum/335fk?_requestid=889983 and was hoping it'd be ok to use this rather than have to get more wire. Also, how are you connecting droppers to the bus, would the chocblock type connectors be ok for this?

Thanks for any help.
