New owner/ No lights in cab

Just purchased my first LS set and have it set up, read the manuals and followed all instructions to the point of heating. I am not getting either light in the cab showing. After several mins there is steam coming from inside the cab area then shortly afterwards spitting from the cab roof valves and whistling but still no Red or Green light. I am currently waiting for it to cool down to remove the body so just after some advice.

> The lights are a known problem on the A4 locos. They are activated by a brass wiper sliding over the PCB on the nearside front of the loco. The wiper moving left activates the green light and moving right activates the red light.

>

> The board is flat mounted by two screws on a Mazak alloy mounting bracket. Although quite long the mounting bracket/PCB unit is only fastened to the loco by two more small screws right at the front.

>

> Over time or with vibration (especially being transported) these screws can loosen allowing the PCB board to 'droop’ so the wiper losses contact at the right hand side (red light).

>

> This can be resolved by slackening the two front mounting screws, lifting the right hand end of the casting and retightening the two screws.

>

> If the screw holes in the casting have become enlarged then adding a 7mm x 2.5mm spacer (cut from a typical business card) card between the right hand end of the casting and the PCB can resolve the problem.
