Servo motor problem
The servo motor of my Mallard has always been noisy compared to other locos.
Today it is completely on strike: the rotor is blocked by the lower magnet.
To investigate the details I have to remove the motor.
The motor is fixed to the gearbox with 2 screws at the rear and a bracket at the front.
The rear screws are visible after removing the weight.
There is limited access to the upper screw, but no access to the lower one.
Q: Is it really necessary to remove superheater (etc.) and gearbox to get the motor out ?
Any advise is welcome.

I forgot one step . . .
Loosen the two screws that hold the regulator arm restrictor (stops the arm from riding up its peg) to allow enough play to be able to lift the brass arm end adaptor off its peg.
